SOLD! . Catching Fireflies" is one of my fav pieces form this collection. I love the whimsy of it and he meaning behind it. As a child I lived on 15 acres land that we could run about on and use our imaginations daily. Summer nights were filled with fireflies glowing inner fields .We loved to go outside and catherine glass jar and watch them glow and swirl around. It was magical much like this painting depicts. Sadly I dont see fireflies on summer nights anymore due to the pesticides and sprays, but i will always cherish catching them as a memory of summer days in my childhood.

 This" Feels like Summer" collection is a body of abstract mixed media works inspired by summer days that simply bring joy & happiness! For me summer has always been time where daily schedules take a break, travel plans come to life, time slows down & one enjoys longer days of sunshine,cool blue waters & ultimately feels JOY.
This is a textural body of work experimenting with a subtractive process that begins with color ,& markings and brushstrokes then works it’s way backwards by omitting parts of the colors, & overlapping shapes to make parts transparent. 

The Bible verse which inspired this collection is John:15:11- “ These things I say to you. That my joy remain in you & that your joy may be full.”
